BS Engineering Degree Requirements

 

To be eligible for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, the student must:

  1. Complete all requirements specified in a particular program (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering).
  2. Obtain approval of all electives by the College of Engineering and the student's department.
  3. Complete all University General Undergraduate Degree Requirements.
  4. Obtain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 in:
    • all courses attempted anywhere, at any time, (this requirement includes all transfer work, whether applicable to a particular degree or not);
    • all work taken at UNO;
    • all engineering courses, completed at UNO or elsewhere;
    • the major subject; and
    • the last 60 hours before graduation.
  5. Satisfy the residency requirements of the university (two semesters, or four summer terms, completion of the last 30 hours while enrolled in UNO's College of Engineering).

NOTE : Students planning to GRADUATE AT THE END OF A SUMMER TERM should not count on being able to schedule upper level engineering courses (including electives required in their program) during the summer, unless they are willing to run the risk of having to postpone graduation.
