Each department's curriculum is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). In support of the urban mission of the University, each department places particular emphasis on serving qualified non-traditional as well as traditional students in the New Orleans region.
Civil and Environmental Engineering
Civil Engineers play a vital role in the New Orleans area since it is subject to tropical storms and flooding from the Mississippi River, and most of the city is near sea level. This department offers the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with concentrations in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The EE concentration emphasizes electronics, power, communications and controls while the CE concentration emphasizes digital electronics, computer architecture, operating systems, and software development. » MORE
Mechanical Engineering
This department offers a curriculum based on solid engineering foundations leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. This department produces engineers for employment at the regional and national levels, and in particular for supporting the needs of regional petrochemical, aerospace, manufacturing and oil industries. » MORE
Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering
Graduates benefit the commercial and military maritime industries and the of the Gulf Coast Region's offshore industry, but are also capable of serving the rest of the nation and the world.
